Medical Cannabis Cost Breakdown UK 2026

A practical guide to the cost components that can arise when comparing private medical-cannabis clinic pathways in the UK.

This information does not give medical advice, assess eligibility or recommend a clinic, medicine or course of treatment.

Why there is no single medical cannabis cost

There is no reliable universal monthly or annual figure. The total can depend on the clinic's appointment model, review schedule, whether a clinician considers a prescription appropriate, the medicine prescribed, the pharmacy and delivery arrangement.

For chronic pain, NICE NG144 says not to offer several cannabis-based medicinal products to manage chronic pain in adults, and not to offer CBD for chronic pain outside a clinical trial. The NHS says the evidence is not yet strong enough to recommend medical cannabis for pain relief.

Published clinic-fee examples

Examples checked on 1 October 2026. They are not a price comparison, a recommendation or an indication that a prescription will be offered.

Curaleaf Clinic

Curaleaf listed £30 per appointment, £5 per month and £50 annually for its appointment-fee options. It states that medicine cost is not included because it varies according to what is prescribed.

Mamedica

Mamedica listed a £49 Flex onboarding fee, £49 clinic fees in months 1 and 9, and £9.99 delivery per medication delivery. It states that medication costs are not included. Other plans have different terms and eligibility requirements.

Chronic pain: keep cost and clinical decisions separate

A lower advertised fee does not establish clinical suitability, expected treatment or likely outcome. Review current UK guidance and discuss individual questions with a qualified clinician.

Read the chronic-pain guide for guidance context, and the Leva Clinic review for one example of a published online pain-care pathway. Neither is a recommendation or assessment of suitability.
